ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER Full-time

Position Summary: The Environmental Manager will evaluate the environment, equipment and processes to ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards with the primary goal being to protect employees, customers, the community and the environment. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• Oversee Environmental Compliance as well as Air, Water and RCRA permitting
• Act as the interface with regulatory agencies such as TCEQ and also with third parties, as needed, on compliance and enforcement issues
• Develop and lead the Emergency Response program to include establishing relationships with emergency response agencies to facilitate inter-agency operations in addition to media relations
• Oversee Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of environmental controls as well as Preventative Maintenance (PM)
• Collect environmental samples and oversee field investigations
• Assist with managing laboratory data and report preparation
• Prepare design documents including reports, calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, permit applications and contract documents
• Assist with design calculations, bid packages and specifications for remedial technologies.
• Participate in Construction Management and gain familiarity with construction practices.
• Maintain work scope for project Engineering within time and budget parameters
• Coaches teams and individuals on environmental related tasks and activities
• Other duties as required
Qualifications: Bachelor degree in Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene or related field in addition to a minimum of five years’ experience managing the environmental compliance of air, water and hazardous materials. Must possess working knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance including RCRA. Capability of engaging with state and federal regulatory agencies, the local community, elected officials and non-governmental organizations. Ability to understand process flow diagrams and P&IDs. Ability to write technical procedures and reports. Ability to work in an outdoor environment for extended periods of time. Excellent communication skills.
